NanoFishNest is run by Adrian, a nano aquarium hobbyist based in Sweden, with over 10 years of hands-on experience keeping and breeding small freshwater species.
This site started for a simple reason: most nano fish advice online is written by people who have never actually bred the species they’re describing. The numbers are copied between sites, the photos are stock, and the hard parts — getting fry to survive past week one, dialing in water parameters for wild-type rasboras, culturing live food at home — get skipped.
Everything here comes from my own tanks. When a guide says I raised 200 ember tetra fry from six adults, that happened in my fishroom, with the setup and mistakes documented. When I recommend a sponge filter or a planted-tank light, it’s because I’ve run it on my own systems, not because it pays a commission.
What I cover:
- Breeding protocols for nano species — chili rasbora, celestial pearl danio, pygmy corydoras, scarlet badis, ember tetra, and more
- Live food culture — microworms, daphnia, and other fry foods I raise at home
- Tank gear — filters, lighting, and equipment I’ve personally used on nano setups
Some links on this site are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. I only recommend gear I’ve actually used. Affiliate income helps keep the site running, but it never decides what I recommend.
If you have a question about a specific species or setup, reach out through the Contact page — I read everything.
